Welcome!
Welcome to Cornish Cottage Homestead.
A life lived quietly, season by season
Welcome to our little corner of Cornwall.
We’re a family living a simple, handmade life in an old cottage by the sea, tucked between hedgerows and fields. Our days are shaped by the weather, the garden, the animals, the warmth of the kitchen, and the shifting seasons. Nothing here is perfect, and nothing moves quickly — and that’s exactly how we like it.
Life is full: children learning at home, four dogs under our feet, meals always on the go, a garden that never stops growing, books scattered everywhere, tools and little projects on the table. There are interruptions, muddy boots, half-finished crafts, and a constant stream of everyday tasks… but there is beauty in all of it.
This homestead began as a way to grow more of our own food and live more gently, but it has become something deeper — a place to reconnect with nature, with the land, and with ourselves. We grow vegetables, herbs and fruit, raise a few animals, forage from the hedgerows and seashore, and try to make as much as we can from scratch. In winter we make candles and simple soaps; in summer we fill the house with flowers. I paint the seasons as they move past our windows — watercolour herbs, charcoal hedgerows, the quiet details of home.
This website is our slow journal.
A place to share what we’re learning, making, cooking, planting, harvesting and noticing. No rush, no schedule, no algorithms. Just a quiet record of our family’s seasonal life — as it happens, when it happens.
Thank you for stepping through the cottage door.
Put the kettle on, settle in, and wander the seasons with us.

Our Story
Hello, I’m the creator of Cornish Cottage Homestead — an off-grid, slow-living project on the Cornish coast.
After leaving our home on a Devon farm, we began building a simpler, more self-sufficient life here: starting with solar power, tending a cottage kitchen garden, growing our own food, and learning to live seasonally and sustainably.
I share our journey into off-grid living, herbalism, homemade crafts, and the everyday rhythms of a cottage homestead filled with children, dogs, art supplies and herbs drying by the stove.
From recipes and gardening notes to herbal insights and creative work, this space is a sanctuary for anyone seeking a gentler, more grounded way of living.
Welcome to our little corner of Cornwall — where we grow, make, learn and live slowly, one season at a time.
